Beer & Wine Garden

Fishers Beer and Wine Garden is a newly opened Scandinavian seafood restaurant located outside New York in Montauk. 

Process & Development

The scope of the project was to develop a visual identity with clear design guidelines for the opening of the restaurant. The goal was to create a retro bistro vibe with a fresh yet classical touch - building both on the heritage of the location and the Scandinavian theme of the restaurant. Because of a limited time plan, we choose a rapid collaborative approach to make sure that all key touchpoints were ready for the opening. The focus therefore became centered around crafting a new logo that takes homage from the original founder’s handwritten signature but elevated to better represent the new restaurant. 

Logo, colours & typography

To complement the logo and establish a cohesive visual language, typography and colors were selected that aligned with the brand's overall concept. The typefaces Noto Sans HK and Ubuntu both have a minimal and contemporary treatment, ensuring legibility and visual appeal in printed materials such as menus and signs. The color palette was made to amplify the retro feeling and takes inspiration from traditional European wine and beer posters. ​

Resturant

Together with the pinewood interior and the open layout of the restaurant the new branding takes its space without taking over, ensuring a coherent subtle atmosphere throughout and a distinct visual presence.
